Donna graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  She is the mother of three children ages 13, 9, and 6.  She has been employed with Parents As Teachers since November 2002.

Angela Champlin, Parent Educator

Angela completed her Early Childhood Education degree in 2005.  She was a stay-at-home mom for 14 years.  She is the mother of three children ages 20, 18, and 16.  She has been employed with Parents As Teachers since October 2004.

Charis Rice, Parent Educator

Charis completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Pittsburg State University.  She is the mother of two children ages 3 and 1.  She completed her training for Parents As Teachers April, 2011. 

Becoming more confident in parenting skills  will help children become ready to succeed.

Our Mission is to provide the information, support  and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.

During the years between birth and kindergarten there are important times when specific kinds of learning…language, sight, basic motor skills…must take place for your child to develop to the fullest.  Parents As Teachers, a parent education and family support organization, can help you capture those windows of opportunity so your child starts school ready to succeed.  It’s free for all parents and participation is voluntary.

Our local Parents As Teachers program is sponsored by local school districts and the Learning Cooperative of North Central Kansas as well as the Kansas State Department of Education.
